Skills

Patents

Inventor on the following patents (in collaboration with 瑞洲電裝股份有限公司 / Suitai Electric, unless noted):

AI

Staying current with paradigm shifts in the way engineering work is being driven by artificial intelligence (AI), LLMs and agent harnesses.

Set up a Nvidia DGX spark (desktop-sized personal AI supercomputer powered by the NVIDIA GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip) with vLLM to serve local large language models (LLMs). Using it with VScode/Continue for AI assisted coding. Currently working with the Qemma4 and Qwen3.8 27B models.

Set up an Openclaw Agent with RAG using Google's TurboQuant for vector search as a personal memory assistant as a project to learn this new technology and how to apply it.

Professional Experience

  • Designed a patented e-bike rider-interface control achieving smooth, gear-less power delivery. (In production)
  • Designed a proprietary engine cam timing controller to improve engine performance (joint development with SYM R&D Taiwain).
  • Designed 8 kW e-motorcycle and 1 kW e-bike FOC motor controllers.
  • Designed an Integrated Starter & Generator Controller (ISGC) eliminating the separate starter motor (SYM).
  • Designed a scooter handlebar grip-warmer temperature controller (SYM, in production).
  • Designed a fuel-pump DC-to-DC step-down converter for an electric hybrid scooter (PGO).
  • Designed an Idle Stop Controller for scooters and motorcycles.
  • Designed a suspension load-detection safety device (Taiwan patent pending).
  • Designed a headlamp controller compatible with idle-stop systems.
  • Designed an automotive steering-wheel driver-interface and accessories controller.
  • Designed an automotive dashboard accessories controller — now in production in Mitsubishi 'Colt Plus' vehicles in Taiwan.
  • Worked on motorcycle engine fuel-injection system controller (ECU) development.
  • Designed HW & firmware (PIC assembly) for an engine dynamometer controller with embedded PID — in production, purchased by Modenas for their engine test lab.
  • Designed an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) controller for motorcycle LPG conversion (HW, firmware, Orcad PCB). Demonstrated at Manila EnviroFit; in pre-production.
  • Designed a motorcycle/automotive data logger for engine performance monitoring — in production, used by USM for vehicle data collection.

Control System Engineering Consultant

Heelomatic, Victoria, TX — Aug 2008 – Dec 2008 (contract)
