This project was to design a device that would automatically raise and lower a ski boat safety flag. Some lakes have safety rules that require a ski boat to raise a flag when a ski is down in the water to alert other boats. This is normally done manually. Someone onboard the boat raises the flag when a skier is down, and lowers it when the skier is up out of the water.

This device uses a motor to raise and lower the flag. GPS is used to detect the boat speed. Below skiing speed, the flag raises. Above skiing speed the flag lowers. Or the flag can be controlled with a remote push button device. The flag controller is connected to the remote via bluetooth.
