DroneBase Hardware
Custom quadcopter electronics & firmware with a focus on non-China components and ease of adaptability to customer applications.
Custom Hardware
- Blank template with base functionality that can be quickly and easily customized to customer specs.
- Multiple designs of varying power & size to accommodate different applications.
- Modular circuit design process to allow for rapid prototyping without changing core layout blocks. Reduces errors and lowers the amount of testing work iterative designs.
Non-China Supply
- Designed by American engineers, and specifically to avoid China-made components.
- Taiwan is offering major incentives for drone development with Non-China supply chains. Our hardware is intended to comply with these incentives. The base hardware can be customized to the customer's application. You can own the IP to the hardware to comply with the incentive requirements.
Designed to Avoid Part Shortage
- The landscape of available electronic parts feels very different than the pre-Covid era. Designers and manufacturers of electronics face frequent revisions and component swaps due to changing supply of parts and long lead times. MCUs and ICs are especially hard hit, but all components are feeling the effects. We have made extra effort to design with components that are widely available and have multiple alternatives. Our hardware has a list of backup components that can immediately be substituted to prevent any production delays.
- Our drone hardware is designed with multiple alternatives for core components.
- ESC firmware support for multiple MCUs.
ESC & Power (In Progress / Planned)
- In progress: 4S4P Drone ESC using STSPING0A1.
- Planned: Custom BMS and power enable.
- Planned: 2S1P Drone ESC.
- Planned: 4S4P Drone ESC using Discrete MCU/Drivers.
Initial esc spinup and testing with fixed arm.
Locked rotor startup simulation (LTspice): switching-node voltage and motor current response to PWM.
